Thanks to my blogging friends, I found this cool site. Since yesterday was Valentine’s Day, this Thursday’s questions pertain to romance:
- Love stories? Yes or No? Oh, I’m a sucker for love, just as long as it’s not sickly sweet and unbelieveable. Most great novels (and movies for that matter) have at least one love interest in the mix.
- If yes, “romances” as a genre? Or just, well, stories that have love stories? (Nobody’s going to call “Pride & Prejudice” a “romance,” right?) I really dislike the bodice ripping traditional romance novels. For the most part I think the plots are weak and the writing is, well, let’s just say it ain’t literary fiction *big smile*. So I have to vote for stories with love stories embedded. I loved Pride and Prejudice, afterall!
