I departed from the west rather than the east, am travelling clockwise and will spend a good deal of time in Canada -- but my goals may be quite similar to those of the great writer. Changing times allow me to document my travels in real time. With the help of my son, I'm operating a web site that contains a blog, column, forum, map room, photo gallery and podcast where I'm presenting both audio and video reports. I enjoyed it; wouldn't call it a favorite but it was fascinating, particularly in light of how dramatically some of those places have changed.
