Thanks for your comments, Lotus! I will be interested to see how the majority of readers feel about this book – Snow Flower was so wonderful, that See would have a hard time matching it – my opinion on Peony is impacted by how much I loved Snow Flower! Do come back and let me know your final thoughts when you are done with the book!

I am reading this one at the moment and I do share your opinion that although it is a good novel it can’t quite hold a candle to “Snowflower”. Thank you for the review, I might be prompted to chat more with you about it once I have finished reading the book.

I have been eagerly awaiting your review of this one, Wendy. It’s one I have been looking forward to reading since I first heard she’d published a new book. I’m sorry to hear it doesn’t quite live up to Snow Flower, but I suppose not every book can. Great review!
