Jones novel after reading a review of his short stories in the London Review of Books. And the Sarah Waters is on my shelf. It makes me want to add all kinds of things to my own. I am especially kicking myself for not including some of the books that I want to read for the NYTNotable Challenge, like "All Aunt Hagar's Children." That one may have to join the list immediately. I have only read one Sarah Waters, "Fingersmith," and it was phenomenal, so I have been wanting to read "Night Watch" and "Tipping the Velvet" for some time. Maybe that would be a natural for Joy's Challenge! Meanwhile, Alice Munro is one of my very favorite writers, and I think I can say with confidence that "Open Secrets" is my favorite of the three books I have read by her.
