Over at http://bookmineset.blogspot.com/, John is having a author-off, with John Irving. I thought of you! Go vote

Kookie, I hadn't heard that about Irving - interesting! I can see where Dickens might be a favorite author of his. I know what you mean about having nothing left to read by an author you love. I felt that way about Leon Uris. I still have a couple of Irving books unread.

"Hotel New Hampshire" is possibly the book I have read the most times. It's been awhile. I should dig it out again.

I don't know if you've heard this, but John Irving has read all of Charles Dickens work except for one (I forget which) and he's saving it to be the last thing he ever reads. I don't know how he'll time that, but anyway....(yeah, they used that story in a plot for "Lost", too).
"The Hotel New Hampshire" is that book for me. I love Irving so much, I would be very sad to think I have nothing left of his to read. Isn't that weird?
