Embers sounds very good, Wendy. I really like novels set in that time period. I’ll definitely have to check this one out.

Michelle: Yes, it did go on for awhile – but I found it compelling because of the “discovery” and the philosophizing. Usually I don’t like that in a novel, but for some reason in this one it seemed to work.

I liked this one, but didn’t love it. I thought the monologue went on too long–pages and pages. Parts of it were beautifully written, though.
