Ann: I remember your review of this…and it was in large part because of your recommendation that I decided to read this one when it came up an on-line book group…so thank you! I have Empire Falls on my TBR shelf as well. I did really enjoy Russo’s character development and insight into human behavior.

I loved this book so much. I have read ‘Empire Falls’ which I also enjoyed, but I think this is even better. Russo’s ability to create characters about whom you care and who you know as well as you know your own family never ceases to amaze me.

Sounds wonderful! I have Empire Falls on my shelf but don’t know very much about the author. Glad to see that his characterization is strong–something that is important to me as a reader.

Thanks for the review, I love Russo’s other books and his writing is one of the few that I can read among modern fiction writers. I will be putting this on my Amazon wish list for the future.
