Once you've been through it, or seen the results of what a forest fire can do, you never forget it. We are staying indoors for the most part. At night the smoke thins out up here (it tends to drop into the valley because of cooler temperatures in the mountains) so we can open our windows and get some fresh air. We have forest fires here, too, so I know how anxious you must be about it. Or maybe we're more anxious because a good chunk of the houses in our town were destroyed by fire a few years ago.
