This was a hectic week for me at work, so I did far less blog reading than usual. Despite that, I managed to “find” some interesting books on the blogs and in the reading groups.
Pomegranate Soup, by Marsha Mehran as featured on Tara’s blog Books and Cooks has not only a wonderful cover, but looks like an inviting read. Tara writes: ‘I was really, really charmed by this book, I enjoyed the characters, the story, and the wonderful descriptions of food with accompanying recipes.‘ And for those of you who like to read series…apparently there is a sequel to this book as well.
Oxygen, by Carol Cassella as reviewed by Nancy Grisso on Amazon who wrote a very positive review of this book. Since I work in the medical field, this one looked like a book I would enjoy.
I Remember Running, by Darcy Wakefield as reviewed by Linda Bulger on Amazon who writes: ‘Darcy Wakefield writes intelligently and with the utmost courage about her daily accommodations to weakness and to getting everything she ever wanted, all in the space of little more than a year. Far from being a sorrowful read, this little book may be the most heart-warming and thought-provoking thing you will read this year.‘ This hopeful memoir in the face of a devastating illness sounds like the kind of read which inspires rather than depresses.

I added Pomegranate Soup to my wish list after Tara’s review, too.
Kathy: It really looks good, doesn’t it?
I’m glad Pomegranate Soup interests you! I have the sequel in my amazon cart right now…must press buy!
Tara: I’m sure you will tempt me with a review of the sequel!!
