I love Mailbox Monday posts! What arrived in YOUR mailbox this week? Here’s what showed up in mine:
Dewey: The Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched the World, by Vicki Myron. I won this book from Amy during Book Blogger Appreciation Week. It arrived directly from the Hatchette group and looks wonderful!
The Weight of a Mustard Seed: An Iraqi General’s Moral Journey During the Time of Saddam, by Wendell Steavenson. This uncorrected proof came from the Collins Reads initiative – an imprint of Harper Collins Publishers. It is due for release in the United States in March 2009. Steavenson has lived and worked as a journalist in post-Soviet Georgia, Ethiopia, Iran, Iraq, and Lebanon. At this uncertain time with US soldiers currently engaged in a war in Iraq, I feel compelled to read this insider’s look at what is happening behind the headlines.

I got Dewey, too! I can’t wait to read it. I love stories with animals in them.
I’m looking forward to reading Dewey, too. I’ve loved stories with animals in them ever since I gobbled up all of Thorton Burgess’s books when I was five.
The Weight of a Mustard Seed looks especially compelling. I can’t wait to read what you think of it.
I received The Weight of a Mustard Seed as well (although I think the cover is different) – it sounds really interesting!

I’ve requested an ARC of Dewey (thanks to Kathy at Bermudaonion) so I’m hoping. I had quite a haul this week for Monday mailbox.
Good stuff – will look forward to your thoughts on both!
Wendy, I received The Weight of a Mustard Seed last week. It looks so good. I’m excited about the Collins Reads imprint.
Thank you for stopping by the ‘Mailbox’ this week. ‘Dewey’ is joining me for vacation in Mexico. I’m really looking forward to reading this one. I’m sure I’ll cry some but no one will be wiser because I’ll just jump in the pool.
Kathy and Cathy: Dewey looks really good – I’ve been seeing some positive reviews on it.
Andi: I agree – it looks fascinating.
Wendi: My cover is not the one displayed here…I couldn’t find another cover for the book, so I used this one (which might be from the UK version of the book)
Sandra: Hope you get Dewey!
Elizabeth: Stay tuned!
Shana: I am excited about that group as well…not that I need more books to read *laughs*
Marcia: I’ll look forward to reading your thoughts on Dewey!
