…At the San Jose Book Group Expo
Trish from Hey Lady, Whatcha Readin’?, Jill (aka: Softdrink) from Fizzy Thoughts, author Michelle Gagnon, and Me
I had no idea Trish and Jill were here…we were all talking to author Michelle Gagnon about (what else) books, when Trish asked if I was a blogger. “Yes,” I said. “I’m Caribousmom.” Screaming, jumping around and hugs ensued! How fun to put a face (and voice) to the blogs I love. I’m looking forward to tomorrow to spend more time with Trish and Jill.
I want to write more about the Expo, but the Hilton Hotel is charging me by the hour for my time on the Internet (no, I am not pleased!) so I will have to write more when I get home. In the meantime, here are just a few of the amazing writers I met and heard speak today:

That is SO awesome! If only a lived a little more north.
Seriously, we need a nationwide meet-up! Can’t wait to here more about it.
It’s always so much fun to meet Net Friends in person. The key is to try to call them by their real name instead of their online name. LOL
Looks like you had a lot of fun at the Expo.
Wendy, the unexpected meetup sounds really exciting! And the expo sounds pretty good too. Enjoy the rest and I can’t wait to hear more.
How exciting! Can’t wait for your total review of the Expo.
That is so cool! I’m glad to put a face to some of the names, too!
How awesome! What fun looking expo. I guess it shouldn’t be surprising that other bloggrs were there, but how neat to all realize it.
Enjoy the rest of the event.
That is awesome that you met Trish and Jill! I think its great when you get to put faces to names.
Too cool! I am so jealous, there is never ever anyone cool in my part of the country, blogger or otherwise.
All the pics are wonderful and it was great seeing authors I read in the flesh.
The Andre Dubus III shot you took gave me a much lighter side to him….usually in his book photos he is deepy brooding and dark lighting is used.
THANK_YOU. I would love to meet him as his books speak volumes to me.
That is just awesome that you got to meet Jill and Trish!!! I would have been jumping around too. lol.
Oh how fun! I can’t wait to hear more about your adventures.
Amy: I was thinking the same thing! Actually – how fun would it be to go to an event like this and plan ahead where we all had t-shirts (maybe Book Blogging Friends) so we could immediately pick each other out!
Typ0: *laughing* Actually that is very true…when I introduced Jill to my husband, I fist said “And this is Softdrink.” We all laughed!
Laura: it is so fun – I can’t wait for Day 2…and then to get home and write up a giant post about it!
Mickey: Stay tuned!
Kathy: It is really fun to meet in person those people you spend a great deal of time talking to on the Internet!
Elizabeth: Thank you! I plan to
Serena: It is REALLY great!
Lisa: I don’t believe you
I bet there are cool people and you just haven’t met them yet. BUT, you could always come out here sometime!!!
Gayla: My husband kept asking why I was taking so many photos of him – I said it was for you *wink* I sent you an email with details!
Darlene: It was great – the author we were talking to was laughing because we were more or less shrieking out our blog names and hugging each other
Andi: I’ll post more when I get home!
Wowser! I may have to plan to go next year. Will you remind me when it gets closer to time to buy tickets?? And how cool to see Marisa de los Santos!! I’m green with envy!
(Wendy, I live in South Dakota. It’s not the kind of place people just show up!)
How exciting, Wendy! And what an unexpected treat to meet some of our fellow bloggers. It looks like you had a great time. Bouchercon is supposed to be in San Francisco in 2010, and I am really hoping I can go. We’ll see . . .
How cool is that! I’m betting someday I’ll run into another blogger somewhere along the lines
What a small world!! I always wonder if I’ll run into another book blogger, but what an unexpected treat!
I was thrilled you posted pics! I wish I could have been there, I think I would have been more excited meeting the three of you in person than I would have been meeting the authors!
It was so great meeting you! So did the Starbucks wifi not work out? I agree, it’s a travesty when hotels don’t provide free wifi. Book Group Expo was a blast, though!
Wow, that is so cool that you ran into Trish and Jill! What a great book expo, I can hardly wait to hear all about it!
Les: YES, I will try to remember to post something on my blog to tell people about the Expo next year…it was really fun and would be even better if more of us could go.
Lisa: I’ve been to South Dakota once…it is beautiful there, but very remote
Feel free to come to California someday and visit!
WendyCat: We were talking about the LA Book Festival in April…would be fun to all meet there too!
Kim: It was very cool!
Trish: Yes, it was a treat…
Icedream: Oh, you are so sweet
I will be posting more photos of the Expo…stay tuned!
Michelle: THANKS for stopping by…hope you’ll visit again
It was so fun chatting with you. You got to be the “eye witness” to the excitement of us all discovering we knew each other too *laughing* The Expo was a lot of fun.
Teddy: It was very cool…I need a day to recover and then I’ll write about the Expo in more detail.
How fun! I look forward to hearing more about it!
So cool! How thrilling that you ran into one another. I’d love to attend one of these.
Hey Wendy! I just read about your accidental hookup with Trish and Jill over at Trish’s blog. I’m so jealous!! Maybe you can all come down to LA (my neck of the woods) for The Festival of Books in the spring!
How fun! that’s a great picture of all of you; how many books is Jill trying to hold onto?!
Tanabata: I’m going to post something tonight for sure
Tara: It was thrilling and fun! Maybe you can come next year?!!?
Lisamm: I’d love to come to the Festival of Books…keep us all posted when it is happening!
Dawn: LOL – We all came away with new books (of course!!)
Just wrote a couple of blog entries (including one about my winning the raffle basket)about BookGroupExpo at http://www.thedreamyear.blogspot.com and linked to your entry here with the great author photos.
I spoke to you briefly after one of the BGE salons; you just looked like a woman with a blog and so I got your card.
Looking forward to reading more of your review.
Barbara: Thanks for visiting my blog – I dropped in over at yours and left you a comment
