February 1 – July 31, 2009
I am hosting this challenge in 2009 (read about the rules on this post) and have decided to stretch myself by choosing Option 3: Read at least 6 books that share MORE than two themes.
My themes are:
- Female authors
- New to me authors
- The plot has some sort of mystery which must be solved
- A child or children play a central role in the book
Here is my tentative reading list:
- What the Dead Know, by Laura Lippman (Completed June 16, 2009; rated 4.5/5; read my review)
- The Good Thief, by Hannah Tinti (Completed July 29, 2009; rated 3/5; read my review)
- Finding Nouf, by Zoe Ferraris (Complete July 24, 2009; rated 4/5; read my review)
- In the Woods, by Tana French (Completed May 22, 2009; rated 4/5; read my review)
- Between Here and April, by Deborah Copaken Kogan (Completed July 20, 2009; rated 4/5; read my review)
- Last Night in Montreal, by Emily St. John Mandel (Completed June 1, 2009; rated 4.5/5; read my review)

Good luck with that!
I thought I was doing good with 3 themes and you’ve found 4. Way to go!
Great themes and list. Thanks for hosting this. I’m looking forward to participating.
Thanks Kailana!
Shelly: LOL! I was going to just list three…but then I realized the books I’d chosen all had a child or children playing a big role in the book
Beth: Thank you and You’re welcome! I think it will be fun…thanks for playing!
