Maggie: I will have to check out that book - I like memoirs, but I have to mix them into my reading judiciously because so many of them are depressing! *laughs*

I'm glad to know that Caribou is doing better.
I haven't read Out Stealing Horses yet, but it's on my list for this year. I just finished a really excellent memoir, Life is Like a Line, which is Cynthia Sabotka's story of her struggles with mental illness and her dysfunctional family. I've read a lot of memoirs over the last few years, and this is definitely one of the best.

Tanabata: Out Stealing Horses is simply wonderful...and yes, Breathing out the Ghost is a great read (especially if you like books that delve into the psychology of the characters).

I'm glad to hear that Caribou is feeling better!
Good to see more positive comments on Out Stealing Horses. It's already on my wishlist so we'll see how long before I give in a get a copy. Breathing Out the Ghost also sounds like a good read.

Deb: Thanks - and you will NOT regret adding Out Stealing Horses to your pile :)

Les: Thanks for keeping Bou in your thoughts :) She enjoyed the belly rub! I have both Ford's and French's books in my stacks to read in 2009. It is good to hear they are so well done! Can't wait to read them now.

Nise: thanks! And glad you enjoyed Petterson's book :)

Amy: Hope your week is also great. It is really fun when a book surprises you! I love that :)

Darlene: I am always getting tears in my eyes when I read about other bloggers' pets! Thanks for your good thoughts. I really liked Curnutt's book! Hope you had a fabulous Sunday.

Staci: I'll be interested in your review of Edgar Sawtelle. I've been on the fence as to whether or not I want to read it.

Frances: Thank you so much.

Sandra: Sounds like you have been busy...I am also trying to decide how to do Weekly Geeks. I cannot mention 300 blogs! *laughs* I should have it posted mid-week.

Yvonne: Thanks! Hope your week will also be great!

Samantha: I agree - I hate seeing my furbabies uncomfortable!

Arial: I know what you mean - my dogs and cats are WAY above my love for books ... which tells you something! Thanks for the good thoughts.

LH: It is good to see WG back - I was spotty with it before...I'm going to try to be better about it now!

Stephanie: Thanks :)I'm happy to see WG back up too. I haven't read a ton of Patterson - I'll look forward to reading your review.

Again, I'm glad to hear Caribou is feeling better!! I think it's really great that Weekly Geeks is back. It seems to be a fitting tribute to Dewey that her community building is going to continue. I tried to post them weekly before...but I was kind of hit or miss on them. I did post this week though!

I just finished Eclipse by Richard North Patterson. Hopefully, I'll get a review up tonight!

I am so glad that Caribou is doing better. I'm also glad to hear that Weekly Geeks is back. I never took part in it before, but I'm going to give it some thought. I've not been very faithful to my other weekly memes.

Wendy, I'm sorry to hear about Caribou's problems and hope your pup will be okay. I love my dogs way more than my books, so I understand what a week it must have been for you.

Sounds like you had a good week of reading. I'm glad to hear that Caribou is feeling better. It is hard to see animals in pain especially when they are family.
