Glad you’re feeling better. I loved Fingersmith and am intrigued when any author is compared to John Irving. I’d choose Digging To America (which I really liked) and Chocolat (though I was the only one that hasn’t read this) from your list.

Chocolat would have to be top of my list too (especially if I was currently experiencing the winter months as you are!). An absolutely mesmerising book – I read it ages ago but have been meaning to revisit it for ages.

Beat the Reaper was a fast fun read, although there is a lot of swearing and violence involved. I hope you continue to feel better!

Hi, Wendy. It’s been wet down my way the last couple of days. The area has been getting some much needed rain. Hopefully it will help keep the fires down. I was so sorry to hear you’d been sick.

I received my copy of Breathing Out the Ghost yesterday in the mail and am looking forward to getting to it. Other books you mention that I really want to read include Fingersmith and The Little Giant of Aberdeen County. They both sound so good.

Of all the book choices you list that you might want to read this month, I haven’t read a one. Several are on my must read list though. I’d say go with Eat, Drink, and Be From Mississippi and Beat the Reaper.

Kathy: I don’t mind language and violence if it has a point and the story is good. Thanks for your recommendation!

Debbie: Soup in the crockpot – yummy! I love doing crockpot cooking on cold days.

Terri: thanks for the recommendation – I’m leaning toward Chocolat and In Hovering Flight. I think I can get to both before the end of the month.

Samantha: I really need to read A Thousand Veils soon as the author sent it to me several months ago…hmmmmm.

Diane: Glad you are enjoying the reviews! A friend is sending me Affinity so that will probably the next Waters novel I read.

Rebecca: I’m liking Truly…she is a fascinating character!
