Books for the Heart is a special event being hosted by Michelle at 1 More Chapter. She writes:
This purpose of the reading event Books for the Heart is to raise money for the American Heart Association and/or to honor a loved one.
When Michelle first posted this event, I knew I would participate. Little did I know that it would fall within a few days of me losing a loved one – my noble and magnificent german shepherd Caribou whose heart was big and generous. So although this event will raise money for people with heart disease, I am dedicating it in part to Caribou’s memory.
Michelle asks that we set an amount (a dollar amount per page or book read, or a static amount). I had originally thought of donating an amount per page read…but I have been struggling to read the last few days (in fact, I’ve read nothing since Thursday). So instead I am going to donate a set amount of $50. I will list the books I read here since this is meant to be a reading challenge – but no matter how much I read, I will donate $50 to this worthy cause.
