Have you visited Marcia today at The Printed Page to share what arrived at your house this week? Here’s what I got:
The Red Leather Diary: Reclaiming a Life Through the Pages of a Lost Journal, by Lily Koppel – when I was contacted by the author about this book I was sold. Koppel has written a story about a woman who lived in New York during the 1920s and ’30s and recorded her life on the pages of a red leather diary which was rescued from a dumpster on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Danny from Harper Collins sent me SIX copies of this book – one to review and five to give away. I finished reading the book this week (read my review), and have posted about the giveaway here. Contest ends February 22…so hurry and enter if you want a chance to win!

Oh my gosh – you are so lucky. I really want to read that book.
*laughs* Then I hope you win it, Kathy!!
Wow! Talk about quick turnaround. Wish I could do that!
I won this book from Words to Mouth and haven’t read it yet but I’m hoping to this year!
OMG! I would love to read this book!
Oh, I would dearly love to win this book~I’ve been journaling since I was five years old, and I can still remember my beloved grandma (with her enormously high expectations) saying, “You don’t know how to spell that?! Keeping a journal is such a powerful tool, and I imagine this would be a terribly powerful book. Thanks for the great review.
looks like a great book. I’ve been journaling since an early age, though now it has tapered off. checking out the contest now.
This sounds like such an interesting book! (I’m definitely entering your giveaway.) I’m impressed at how fast you read and reviewed this book!
My Mailbox Monday post is here.
Congrats – I REALLY want to read this book! What an amazing story – the fact that it was a real diary.
Here’s my Mailbox! ~ Wendi
This is my first time hearing about this book, but I guess it must have made a real impression on you since you read and reviewed it so quickly. It combines two favorites of mine, reading journals and reading about NYC.
I really really want to read this book. I so hope I win!
I’d love to win a copy of this – if you’re willing to post to the UK.
I’ve tagged you for a photo meme on my knitting blog – just Find your 5th photo file folder, then the 5th photo in that file folder.
Then pass the meme to 5 people.
My photo is here:
