Poor Argus! He’s probably thinking, “What, do I have a secret tattoo that says, ‘Bite me’ on my back?” And I love Raven’s and Argus’ grins in the last picture. I suspect if he wasn’t getting a kick out of it, he wouldn’t be lying there waiting for the next attack.
How funny to see little Raven tackling Argus like that! They do love that kind of play though, don’t they? My two go at it all the time.

Wow I can’t believe how big your puppy is getting already!
Awww, that was so cute. We have two Lab mixes. Kelsey is very submissive and Sunnie is a total Alpha Female. Sunnie’s not rough but she’ll occasionally rest her paw on Kelsey. I’m told that’s another sign of dominance. Shreve Stockton of dailycoyote.net says that her coyote Charlie will ram her dog Chloe with his butt until she falls over. Sounds mean, but apparently canines are happiest when they know their pack ranking.
Vasilly: *laughing* I don’t know how they keep it up, but I know I don’t have the energy
Sand: Don’t feel too bad for Argus – he goes over and flops down, rolls on his back and looks at her…essentially inviting her to leap on him. He is so gentle (although he looks ferocious!) and just knocks her around and mouths her. Only a couple of times has she bitten him too hard and he has to put her in her place.
Laura: It is their number one thing to do – I sometimes have to step in if it gets too rough (Raven does not have an “off” switch and is definitely vying for Alpha status).
Kathy: I know – she is a little monster who is growing faster than I can keep track of!

El Fay: I love the daily coyote! I think all canines find pack rank to be one of the most important aspects of their life. Raven is most likely going to be top dog once she gets a little bigger – and I don’t think Argus will fight for the spot. He is a clown and doesn’t want to work that hard!

Our ‘puppy’Spike is 1 now and was neutered on Monday – by Tuesday he was running around the house playing with our other dog Amy, while we chased him around trying to get hom to relax!!! An impossible task.

LOL-how cute. It’s so funny when they play. Raven looks like she’s grown a lot already.
Staci: If Raven had her way, she’d be wrestling with the cats (although if that were to happen, I have a feeling my puppy would not fare so well!).
Lynda: It is fun to watch them, isn’t it? I had to smile about your story about Spike. I remember when Caribou had major surgery at 8 months old and the next day she wanted to romp. I had to keep her quiet for 2 months! OMG – what a nightmare!
Darlene: She has grown…almost too fast. I just changed her food to a large breed puppy food to help regulate her growth a bit.
