Puppies grow fast. When I look back on the first photos of Raven, I can hardly believe it was less than 3 months ago Kip and I picked her out of the litter. I thought you all might enjoy a look back…

At 12 weeks (20 pounds):

Raven sure did find a great home!
Those are just too precious! It’s amazing how they go from so little to big in no time. I’m glad you found Raven and vice versa.
Awe, I really love German Sheppard…they are may favourite breed by far. Growing up in Spain that is pretty much all they had, so they make me homesick. Your puppy is so sweet, I am sure that Raven is a lot of work though!
What cute pics! What a wonderful addition to your family.
It is so sad how they grow up so fast (well, sort of…..I am glad the sleepless nights do not last forever!)
I just love those ears — too cute for words!
Adorable, just adorable. When do you think her body will catch up with her ears?!
Thanks, Kathy
Sometimes I need to hear that when I feel my patience is at its breaking point with her!!
Darlene: I’m glad we found her too – she has filled a void here since Caribou died…and we are loving her.
Bethany: I admit that German Shepherds are also my favorite breed! She is a TON of work right now…but I know it will be all worth it
Anna: Thanks – she was a much needed addition!
Molly: The ears get a lot of notice! I love the puppy breath and tiny body…but I can definitely do without the sleepness nights. I’ll actually be really happy to see her at 6 months when she will be a little more mature and have some impulse control too!
Laura: The jury is still out on whether the body size will match those rabbit ears! She weighed in at 20 pounds today at her 3 month check up. I’m guessing she’ll top out close to 70 pounds because both her parents are on the smallish side. But, we’ll see!!
These puppy pictures have made my day – thanks, Wendy! (By the way, I’m linking to your puppy-training tips post in my Saturday round-up this week.)
Your comment made my day, Florinda! Thanks so much for thinking to link to one of my posts – I am truly flattered!
Awww…she is so gorgeous. I couldn’t help but chuckle though. Our Darcy is 9 weeks old and tips the scales at 3.5 lbs!
Raven is a beauty!
I love love love the photos. Keep them coming!
Raven loves her mommy!
Amy: That is quite a size difference *laughs* Perhaps that is why I feel this “push” to get Raven trained SOON…once she reaches 70 pounds, I can’t make her do anything she doesn’t want to!! Somehow between now and then she has to believe I am the “bigger” dog
Sheri: Thanks
Every pound is another pound of cuteness. Love her smart, alert face in the last photo. All attention!
I can’t believe it’s been 12 weeks!! she’s really growing up fast and I love her big ears!!
I love your puppy pictures! Especially with a German Shepherd, you get to see them get their “grown-up ears.”
Look at that baby! What a darling puppy. Her little ears in that last picture are just too cute for words.
OMG, she is so precious! It makes me want a puppy, but I would feel so guilty not getting a rescue. We’ll see.
So fun to see the pictures together! Wow, has she grown …. and changed in appearance! Adorable and quite an armful too!
J.G.: She is most definitely “All Attention!”
Staci: The time has flown by, hasn’t it?
El Fay: Thanks so much – and I agree, shepherd puppies are really fun to watch grow up with all their big parts.
Jenny: *smiles* Thank you!
Teddy: I had twinge of guilt at not going through rescue (especially since I used to volunteer for a rescue). But I felt like Raven picked us and we were just along for the ride!
Paula: Thanks for stopping in, sis
She is a HUGE armful…pretty soon I won’t be able to pick her up anymore.
Wow!! That really is fast! She’s gorgeous =)
Raven is so beautiful and she’s growing so fast!
Thanks Kristina and Lori – she is a sweetie
Love that insane puppy smile in the last shot, in your arms. Just pure HAPPY! And the very last shot, sitting there all important: this will be a gal to be reckoned with (as if you don’t know that already). Her full name is Raven Trueheart, I just have a feeling.
I think you are doing a wonderful job with her, Wendy. She looks so healthy and full of beans.
Tui: You have the “full of beans” exactly right!!! Thanks for the affirmation. She is a handful and there are times I am at my wits end with her, but I am also really happy she is her “own girl.” She is confident and brave and once she has developed a little self control I think she is going to be one of those “special” ones that warm one’s heart. (p.s. She had just finished nipping my nose in that last shot – thus the insane grin!!)
She’s growing so fast!!
And getting prettier every day, too.
ADORABLE!
Wow, they grow so fast! When I saw that last picture I thought: wait, what happened to her floppy ear? All of a sudden she looks like a grown-up shepherd.
Suzi: Thank you
She’s starting to look like a real “dog” now!
Trish: Aw, thanks!
Jeane: She does, doesn’t she? It practically happened overnight!
I just love those ears!
Serena: LOL – everyone notices the ears first
Absolutely adorable. Quite a pair of ears on her, too.
Thanks, Les…those ears are always busy too!
