Welcome to Mailbox Monday hosted by Marcia at The Printed Page. What arrived at YOUR house this week? Here’s what came to mine:
The Reincarnationist by M.J. Rose arrived from Lenore at Presenting Lenore. I won this book in a drawing on Lenore’s blog and she mailed it in January. It finally arrived in battered packaging, encased in a plastic bag with a note of apology from the Post Office for the damage to the package (the book, however, was unscathed). I wonder where this book traveled in the last 4 months before it finally made its way to my doorstep! This book has been described as a riveting thriller of secrets, history and murder. To read more about the author, the book OR other work written by this author, visit the author’s website.
The Marriage Bureau for Rich People by Farahad Zama came from G.P. Putnam’s Sons through a Shelf Awareness offer. Due to be released in June, this book has been described as “Alexander McCall Smith meets Jane Austen” in a contemporary Indian marriage bureau. So far it is getting good early reviews and reviewers are calling the novel warm, charming, and captivating. To read more about the book, visit the Penguin Group. Read an interesting interview with the author about this book on The Asian Writer Blog.

Both of your books look good. I hope you enjoy them.
wow, that book took a winding trip on its way to get to you! Happy reading…here’s my mailbox: http://www.savvyverseandwit.com/2009/05/mailbox-monday-28.html
I’m looking forward to The Reincarnationist!
The Horseman’s Graves by Jacqueline Baker reached me after 9 odd months from Canda. Teddy And I had given up on it.
Better late than never!
Here is mine!

Here’s my Mailbox! ~ Wendi
Both books look interesting. I just put the Reincarnationist on my tbr list last week. And “Alexander McCall Smith meets Jane Austen”? I’m adding The Marriage Bureau to my list, too!
You got two books that I had my eye on. I’ll have to live vicariously through you while I concentrate on reading some other things. Enjoy!
The Marriage Bureau sounds great. The cover is so bright and cheery. And I’ll fall for anything compared to Jane Austen.
I’ve got the Marriage Bureau waiting on my TBR pile at the moment – I think the description of the book sounds gorgeous – not sure why I haven’t started it before now really! I might have to rectify that this weekend.
Kathy: Thank you!
Serena: I’d love to have followed that book around and see where it went!
Bridget: You and me both!
Gautami: WOW, 9 months?!??! That must be a record!
Wendi: I agree … looks like a fun, light read to me!
Belle: Hope you’ll enjoy them!
Nicole: LOL – vicarious living is good sometimes
Melanie: I admit, I fell for the cover too
Karen: You’ll have to let me know how you like it since sounds like you’ll be reading it before I will!
I’m glad you finally received your book. I hope it’s worth it after all that trouble!
Those both sound like interesting books. Enjoy!
Both of these look great!
