This week’s geek post is all about guilty pleasures:
What’s your non-reading guilty pleasure?
Trashy TV?
Trashier movies?
Junk food?
I have a few guilty pleasures. My job can be pretty intense – I work with people all day answering questions and problem solving…so by the end of the day I am ready to just zone out, not think, be a little numb. Here’s what I turn to:
People Magazine – Yup, I like reading the celebrity gossip and the latest updates from reality television. I can read through this magazine in about an hour. Just pure, unadulterated trashy stories. Love it.
Starbucks. Give me a double tall caramel macchiato and a chocolate croissant and I slip into a sugar-induced great mood. I like stopping by Starbucks right before I start my 30 minute commute home after a long day of work.

Reality Television. My favorites: America’s Next Top Model, American Idol, The Bachelor (and The Bachelorette), and Survivor. I know, these shows are all brain-dead. That’s what I like about them.
I think there are more guilty pleasures in my life…but you get the gist of it!

I used to be really into magazines. I had so many subscriptions that it was a pity. Cupcakes are a guilty pleasure of mine and I have my certain romance novels that I have always loved.
I had my first caramel macchiato yesterday at work. I had them add two shots (on top of the two already in it), as I was exhausted from a sleepless night. LOVED it!!
I rarely ever watch tv, but we were on a little road trip over Memorial Day Weekend and I got sucked into both Tori & Dean AND Jon and Kate Plus Eight. Ugh. Train wrecks yet I couldn’t stop watching! Thankfully, we our cable doesn’t include those stations so I’m safe.
Trying to catch up on my blog-hopping. The past 4-5 weeks have been sooooo busy!
I love to read People and drink my Starbucks while sitting in a comfy chair at B&N!! Totally understand about having to zone out!!
Brain dead is (sometimes) good!
Funny! I forgot about Starbucks, but my hit is a tall, non-fat, extra hot caramel latte
Right there with you on switching off with reality TV.
Happy Weekly Geeks

Staci: Sounds perfect!
Michelle: I agree *laughs*
Maree: Oh, those are good too (anything with caramel gets my attention!)
how could anyone not love American Idol
Grasshopper: *laughs* I agree!
