Well, I am nearly done with my first random read for this challenge: Love Medicine by Louise Erdrich. I hope to get it finished by Friday night so that I can start the Read-A-Thon with a fresh book…so look for my review of Erdrich’s book by then (I am enjoying it!).
So it is time to choose my next random read – and just because I felt like it, I picked the next two. I used Random.org and selected two numbers out of a possible 50. Then I went to my stacks and began counting down until I hit each number. Using this method, here are the next two books for the challenge:
#33 – Joe Jones by Anne Lamott (a book that has been gathering dust for about a year now)
AND
#40 - The Spectator Bird by Wallace Stegner
Have you read either of these? I am looking forward to cracking them open!

I really should have joined this challenge. I think I am going to try and update my goodreads or librarything by the end of the year, and then once I have all my TBR books listed I will challenge myself to read randomly! Sounds like a plan, anyways! Enjoy your books and the read-a-thon!
Have read both authors, but neither book. I count Stegner’s Crossing to Safety among my all-time favorites.
This is such a cool challenge. I wish i could sign up but I know that if i do other challenges will suffer.
I haven’t read any of the books you talk about but I read a book by Stegner and really liked it although it was sad.
Okay, now I’m not feeling so badly about not getting anywhere with this challenge yet! One of my books for this weekend is my first book for this challenge. Luckily I’m getting caught up on review books and can hit “my” books!
