Read-A-Thon: 2 Mini Challenges in Hour #7

Share in top social networks!

I am taking a much needed break from reading to do a couple of fun mini-challenges.

Mini Challenge: Mix up the Titles

Icedream at Reading in Appalachia is asking us to mix up some titles and create our own.

Visit some of the participants blogs and read their book choices. Then take the titles from different books you see listed and combine them to create your own unique book titles. Write a brief synopsis telling me what the book is about. (4 to 6 sentences is fine- more if you are inspired).

I borrowed titles from the reading lists of two bloggers: Gina at Book Dragon’s Lair AND BJ at Vivere est Cogitare

My book title: The Neighbor Running From the Law

Synopsis: Maud Pepper is a housewife, mother and diligent coupon clipper, but when she scams the grocery store to double all her coupons…she finds herself on the other side of the law. Maud’s husband is away at a business convention selling chocolate bunnies to mail-order Easter basket companies, and Maud is forced to leave her two young children with her scatter-brained friend Angel as she goes on the run. Maud’s friendship with a wayward private investigator will either vindicate or condemn her in this whacky novel about truth, justice and getting by during the recession. (okay, I know this is ridiculous…but I’m functioning on little sleep and a tired brain right now!)

Mini Challenge: Eat to Read

Beth at Beth Fish Reads is hosting the Eat to Read challenge.

So this is what I want to know. What’s in your snack pile? Healthy fruit, just-baked brownies? Hot tea, ice-cold cola? Are you craving crunchy? Chocolate? Savory? A gigantic bowl of popcorn? You tell me.

I have some great snacks onĀ  board…and I have been dipping into them from time to time. Here is my list:

  • Cashews – salted….yum
  • Apple Pie – I baked this on Wednesday and have been hoarding some just for today
  • Hot tea – herbal
  • Popcorn
  • Herbed Beef Stew (I know – not really a snack, but it makes a great lunch and since I made it on Thursday, it has had time to meld all the flavors)
  • Chocolate bars (several different types) – they’re minis, so I won’t OD on chocolate
  • Yogurt
  • Bananas and apples

Kip has agreed to make dinner (gotta love that guy!), so I am all set in the food department!
