This update covers hours seventeen and eighteen of the Read-A-Thon (9:00 pm to 11:00 pm PST).
How I am feeling at this point in the Event: I am still surprisingly awake and feeling okay. I want to make it to 1:00am which will be through hour 20. I guess if I am still feeling really good, I’ll continue after that, but my plan is to just make it to 1:00am. I have only 28 pages left to read in my current book.
Mini Challenges during this Time Period:
Wisdom of Age Challenge post here on my blog.
Shanra from Libri Touches challenged us to post a drabble (100 words exactly about a reading experience). Here is mine:
October blew in on dead leaves and the sweet smell of apples from the orchards. Nights were longer and colder, days shorter. Fall reading challenges filled the blogs, but I anticipated one more than the others. One full day. One full night. The task: uninterrupted gluttony for all things bookish. It sounded so easy, but as the hours wore on and the endless pages turned, fatigue set in, blurring the pages, confounding the meaning. I read. I blogged. I carefully transcribed numbers which revealed my success. Hours ticked by; my eyelids drooped. The 24 hour Read-A-Thon ground to a halt.
The stats:
| Hour of Event | # of Pages Read/Total # of Pages | Time Spent Reading (min)/Total Time Reading (min) | Time Spent Blogging (min)/Total Time Blogging (min) |
| 9:00 PM – 11:00 PM (hours 17 & 18) | 67/485 | 65 minutes/565 minutes | 55 minutes/405 minutes |
| Hour of Event | Time Spent Visiting (min)/Total Time Visiting (min) | Mini Challenges Completed This Hour | Down Time in Minutes |
| 9:00 PM – 11:00 PM (hours 17 & 18) |
0 minutes/30 minutes | 2 | 0 minutes |

so organized.
Ha! Found the comment button! (It was hiding. Shhh.)
I’m really impressed by everyone’s drabbles. ^-^ Yours has a really nice feel to it! And your stats are fantastic! I hope you’ll be able to make it the whole 24 hours, but if you don’t that you’ll at least have made your goal. You can do it! *waves pompoms* Go, Wendy, Go!
You’ve done a great job! Keep it up and enjoy that last book!
Yay! You are doing so well. ReadaThon ReadaThon ReadaThon! When you get tired or the eyes go funny just chant for a bit. I find it helps! Happy Reading!
Your update posts are so organised and precise! Great job!
Care: Thank you!!!
Shanra: I was surprised I could come up with ANYTHING on a drabble at this point in the event. Thanks for the cheers.
Nicole: Thanks!
Trisha: Thanks for the chant *laughing*
Marg: Thanks – it helps that I pre-write the “bones” of them, and then just have to fill in the blanks!
