I really enjoyed this novel and didn’t note any of the plodding that you describe. I think I was too absorbed in the lives of Pearl and May by that point.

Stephanie: I hadn’t thought of it for Women Unbound…but, yes, I think it would fit that challenge well.

Kathy: If I had to recommend just one Lisa See book, it would be Snowflower and the Secret Fan…she is definitely a good writer to introduce the reader to the Asian history.

Amanda: I like novels about sisters too…hope you’ll get a chance to read this one.

I’ve never read Lisa See, but she is way high up on my authors to read list. I really enjoyed your review of this book and hope I get to read this soon.
