Reading for a Cure: My Commitment

For those of you who don’t know what this is all about, please visit the information post and sign ups.

I decided back in August that I wanted to do something significant on my blog in 2010 and eventually decided on raising money to help find a cure for childhood cancer. I’m pleased that many of my readers are joining me in this cause…and I hope more of you will commit to reading for a cure sometime in 2010.

Here is MY commitment for the year:

I am planning to donate $2 per book I read in 2010 and will make quarterly donations to The Pediatric Foundation.

I am also planning to match donations to the site (through our event button) up to $200.

I am planning to ask family and friends to sponsor me – however they like (one month, 3 months, the whole year….every little bit counts).

In March I am planning some guest posts, and giveaways here on Caribousmom which I hope will help get people involved in the cause (more information about this in February). March would be a perfect month for those of you to join in who are thinking of only doing one month of participation…and also a great month to ask some people to sponsor or match donations!

I plan on giving you all quarterly updates on donations made to the Pediatric Cancer Foundation…as well as any information about the project here on Caribousmom.

Thanks for your continued support of this cause…

What a wonderful thing to do!

I’m also doing this, and donating $1 per book. I’m tying it in with the 100+ books challenge. 🙂
