Completed: The Pub Challenge

I actually finished this challenge last month, but forgot to post a wrap up. Many thanks to Michelle at 1MoreChapter who hosts this popular challenge.

The goal was to read 10 books published in 2010. I actually read eleven, and then decided to stop tracking the books I was reading that would meet the challenge criteria. Last year, I continued tracking all year…but lately I am not so interested in keeping up on challenges which I have technically finished.

So – I read eleven books and they were all good or pretty good. I had three 5 star books in the group: Keeping the Feast, by Paula Butturini (pub. 02.18.2010), Let’s Take the Long Way Home: A Memoir of Friendship, by Gail Caldwell (pub. 08.10.2010), and Get Lucky, by Katherine Center (pub. 04.06.2010).

You can see all the books I read for this challenge along with links to my review by visiting this post.

  1. I lost interest in challenges, a couple of years ago, and now limit myself to a maximum of two at a time (usually just one). One great thing about blogging is that you’re in control. If you don’t want to do challenges — so be it. Isn’t that lovely? Much nicer than being told what to do. LOL

  2. Congrats on a job well done!

    Nancy: Ditto!!

    Kathy: Thanks!

  3. I’m in complete agreement with Nancy’s comment. I haven’t participated in a challenge in ages! But I’m glad you posted about your completion of this challenge. I’d forgotten all about Let’s Take the Long Way Home and need to get a copy ASAP. As I recall, it was one that really interested me!

Les: Oh, you MUST read Let’s Take the Long Way Home…it will be released in August.
