Update 24 Hour Read-a-Thon: Hours 19 & 20

Welcome to Dewey’s 24 Hour Read-A-Thon

This update is for hours 19 & 20 (11:00 PM to 1:00 AM PST) – This will be my last update. I have reached my goal to make it through 20 hours and I need to go to bed now! Good luck to those of you still hanging in there. MANY THANKS to my awesome cheerleaders – you ROCK!

How I am feeling at this point in the Event:

Done in. Happy that I managed to meet my goal for the event. Ready for bed!

What I am currently reading:

I’ve finished a second book – YAY!

I decided to pick up a book I was reading before the start of the Read-a-Thon which I had only 58 pages left in. Solitaria by Genni Gunn is a book I’m touring on October 28th and it is set in Italy. I managed to finish that one too.

I decided not to start another book because I have reached my goal of completing 20 hours of the Read-a-Thon and I am packing it in now!

What I have finished reading:

  1. The Marriage Artist by Andrew Winer was finished during hour 15
  2. Love at First Bark by Julie Klam was finished during hour 19
  3. Solitaria by Genni Gunn (finished the last pages of this one during hour 20 – started before the Readathon)

What I have eaten during these hours:

No food, but I drank a HUGE glass of water.

Mini Challenge(s) completed during this update period:

  • Pet Love  (you know I couldn’t resist this one, right?) asks that we Leave a minimum of  two sentences and max of 2 paragraphs of  how your pets have helped or hindered your reading AND post a photo. So photo first because it supports my narrative (click to enlarge):

Do you see those fuzzy little faces? They are ALL on the couch, and you may not be able to make it out in this photo, but both cats are on my lap and Raven’s head is pressed against my thigh. Do you have any idea how hard it is to read, much less blog on a laptop with all these soft, densely cute animals draped over me? So this is how my pets hinder my reading (and blogging) – they simply treat me like a pillow (or mattress) and I am too much of a sucker and softee to throw them off!

Bloggers I’ve visited (the running total with links):

I love your tidy stats! All that organization makes my mouth water.

  3. You have done well. Keep it up!

  4. Wow I am so impressed with your progress but moreso your organization!!!

  5. Congratulations on making your target. Hope you get some good rest now

  6. Congrats on hitting your goal! I didn’t participate, which is probably a good thing since I only read about 4 pages all day yesterday. 🙁

Great photo of the gang. Looks like the kitties provide a nice pillow to prop your book against. 😉

Hope you have an enjoyable and restful Sunday!

That is a fantastic photo of Raven and both cats sittimng on or next to you on the couch while you try to read and blog. I know the difficulty of reading when animals decide they want to sleep on or next to you and/or your book!

Your pets looked so comfortable lying on your lap. The photo of them is just adorable. It is great that both animal can get along with something which is you.
