December is here…and Christmas is only a few short weeks away. I’ve been squeezing in some Christmas stitching when I have time, and I thought I’d share a little with you. I made little star ornament tags for all my family’s gifts this year (you can see one right there in that photo at the top of this post). They are so easy – a couple of squares of fabric and left over batting, pinking shears, a button, some card stock and stamping tools, and a little glue. I was inspired by this tutorial (although I free hand drew all my stars).
I also got involved with the Christmas ornament swap over at Threadbias. My swap partner was Melanie – and if you check out her blog, you’ll see that she loves the sweet fabrics with a little retro feel. So I decided to make her a little birdie ornament using Cherry Christmas by Aneela Hoey. You can find the tutorial for this ornament in the sidebar of the Spool blog (it is under “free patterns”).
And because this little guy was so fun, I ended up making one for myself and then another one for my sister.
I can’t wait to see what my swap partner crafted for me!
