Reading For A Cure
This page is dedicated to a year long challenge hosted here at Caribousmom to encourage readers to make their reading count in 2010: help find a cure for childhood cancer. I will be adding updates and information to this page as the year progresses.
To join the challenge, please visit the introductory post about the challenge and use Mr. Linky to sign up.
Book Giveaways in March 2010:
Thanks to a number of authors, publishers and publicists who are touched by this project, I am able to offer a number of GREAT book giveaways in March to all those who are either joining the challenge, OR those who are sponsoring a participant, OR those who decide to give a one time donation to the Pediatric Cancer Foundation. Learn more about what is happening in March (including a list of books I am giving away and how to be eligible to win them).
See the list of books being given away here and here.
Many, many thanks to the following individuals and publishers who made the March giveaways possible:
- Author Josh Sundquist, Assistant Director of Publicity (Viking/Penguin) Yen Cheong, and publisher Viking/Penguin – give away of two hard cover editions of Just Don’t Fall (read my review; read book info and guest post by author)
- Author Miriam Gershow and publisher Random House - give away paperback edition of The Local News (read my review, read book and author info)

What a wonderful cause to increase awareness of Childhood cancer as well as making the art of reading do good for others.
I plan on passing this information along to both the Civics Academy advisor and School Librarian where I work. It’s a middle school and I feel it’s a great thing for kids this age to be involved with.
Lori: THANK YOU for passing along the word of what we are trying to do here. I do think this is a good project kids…
